Surgery of the Adult Hip, Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery
|Clinical Interests||Adult Reconstructive Surgery, Hip and Knee Replacement; Research: Arthritis Treatment, Hip Fracture, Joint Replacement|
Philosophy of Care My goal is to offer safe, cutting-edge, evidence-based, non-surgical and surgical care for adult patients with hip and knee arthritis. My team and I offer comprehensive care and complete follow-up, including revision or re-do surgeries when indicated (patient expectations and active lifestyle sometimes wear out joint replacements!).
Why I Entered Medicine I have been interested in the human body and the musculoskeletal system in particular, for as long as I remember. I enjoy the complexity and detail driven process of caring for patients with joint problems, and love the combination of mechanics and understanding of the biological response that surgical reconstruction entails.
Community Involvement/Personal Interests I enjoy teaching and mentoring students in the Tufts Medical School, and am involved nationally as Editor-in-chief of the on-line periodical, Arthroplasty Today. I have volunteered for years in youth sports and the Boy Scouts of America.
Personal Interests I enjoy my family, fitness, reading and travel.
